Do you have GenViewer? If not, the best I can suggest is that you go to the Index tab and customize it so that you display all marriages (1st, 2nd, 3rd). Then sort the view by surname. Then go to BLAKEWAY and just eyeball the marriages for a Betty. -- Dennis Kowallek kowallek@iglou.com ******************

    3. Dennis, I have GenViewer and would appreciate the ability to see married names. ================= Richard Van Wasshnova ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dennis Kowallek" <kowallek@iglou.com> To: <LEGACY@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, February 09, 2007 4:28 PM Subject: Re: [LEGACY] Searching for married women <snip> > Do you have GenViewer? > <snip> > Dennis Kowallek > kowallek@iglou.com > > ******************

Thanks, Dennis, but in the case of several married names I might have to visually search through more than 500 lines in the Index view, most with no spouses. If we could sort on any column in the Index View in Legacy, my cup would run over - but we can't, yet. Contrast this with Generations, which has "Married Name" "Is/Is Not/ Contains/ Doesn't contains/Starts with" as pull down search criteria, and then enables one to view or print a list with five columns, two for first & last names of the people found and three more with customised contents. Having been a programmer myself (on one of the old DEUCE computers back in the 1950s, programming entirely in binary machine code) I guess Dennis & I have more than just Legacy in common. Let's gang up on LEGACY'S programmers and try to persuade them to improve & extend the search & sort routines! How about that, Shelley! Cheers Don Montague -- No virus found in this outgoing message.
