    3. Don, It almost sounds like you're opening Passage Express instead of Legacy. Right click on the Legacy shortcut on your desktop (I assume that's the one you're using to start Legacy?), look at Properties and then the Shortcuts tab. It should show c:\Legacy\Legacy.exe. Let me know what you find. Thanks for using Legacy. Sherry Customer Support Millennia Corporation Support@LegacyFamilyTree.com http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com We are changing the world of genealogy! For the first time I clicked on "create CD", and downloaded Passage Express. I then created a CD of my large-ish family file (24,000+ people. I now find that every time I try to open Legacy I get a window with the message : "Please wait while Windows configures Passage Express Legacy Free Edition" with one of two sub-texts: "Gathering required information" or "Time remaining * seconds" This cycles for a while and EVENTUALLY Legacy opens How can I get rid of this wretched, pointless window and its maddening cycling, please? 3. Hello Sherry Thanks for yours in which you wrote: >It almost sounds like you're opening Passage Express instead of Legacy. >Right click on the Legacy shortcut on your desktop (I assume that's the one >you're using to start Legacy?), look at Properties and then the Shortcuts >tab. It should show c:\Legacy\Legacy.exe. Let me know what you find. C:\Program Files\Legacy\Legacy.exe When Legacy 6.0 eventually opens, i.e. we stop cycling between those two pesky screens, clicking on Help->About Legacy->General tells me that I'm using Version 6.0.0.118, Build Date 7/12/2006, Customer Number 65-671-............... Passage Express can be opened at C:\Program Files\Passage Express\Passage.exe, and is version 2.3.0.0. Can I have done something so cunningly unexpected and stoopid when I first used Passage Express that Legacy 6.0 has somehow got corrupted? Hmmm Don No virus found in this outgoing message.
