Hi Is there any way of identifying people by dates? I explain: I have been doing a great deal of research in France and have entered much of the information I've found. I have since found out that, in the latter 19th century, there were comments placed in the margins of the original act of birth that would include mariage and death. I did not realize this at the time of entry and did nothing about it. Is there an easy way for me to go back to these dates and include this extra information? Thanks!

Or you can join the Legacy user group, it is very high traffic but support monitors it. When ever I have trouble I just download a new file and all is okay <G> but that only works if you have highspeed <G> Eliz
Hi List Could someone please explain how you add a second marriage to a person in Legacy without losing the first marriage. Thanks Jan
> Hi List > Could someone please explain how you add a second marriage to > a person in Legacy without losing the first marriage. > Thanks > Jan Click on the individual. Then right-click and select Add/Wife from the context menu. It will prompt you for New or Existing, and give you an opportunity to either link to an existing individual or to create a new individual record. Then it will ask for marriage information. Glen
(Using 6.0.0.83 deluxe) Is there a way to persuade Legacy to compute married names for inclusion in a name index? I can include alternate names, but married name does not seem to be an option. Obviously some cultural assumptions or choices would need to be made, such as "woman takes husband's name" (UK, etc). I can (and do) export my tree to my website, using phpgedview, and that CAN compute married names based on the UK norms. My website therefore shows an index with married names. However, when it comes to printing out from Legacy an index report to include in a paper archive, I cannot do it.... On a (slightly) related matter, I don't seem to be able to persuade my (Kyocera Mita FS-1020D KX) Laser printer to print index reports double sided. I can choose the option in printer setup, but it goes ahead and prints single sided anyway. For most other reports, S-S is the way to go, but for Index reports, much page-turning (and some paper) is saved by printing D-S. The options available (alternate left and right placement of titles, etc) all suppose that D-S is assumed available. david beakhust david.beakhust@one-name.org

Thank you so much for your advice. I went to the website and was prepared to put my data into a new family file, but when I opened my file, the problem had disappeared. I guess all I needed was to shut down and open Legacy, again. Thank you so much for the prompt reply. I am, once again, in fine shape. :-D Darlene darcards@yahoo.com --- LegacySupport <Support@millenniaCorp.com> wrote: > Darlene, > > Go to our website at > http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp > Solutions > by > Error Number, where you'll find a solution to this > error message. > > Thanks for using Legacy. > > Sherry > Customer Support > Millennia Corporation > Support@MillenniaCorp.com > http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com > > We are changing the world of genealogy! > > When replying to this message, please include all > previous correspondence. > Thanks. > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Darlene Hicks [mailto:darcards@yahoo.com] > Sent: Tuesday, April 18, 2006 12:23 AM > To: LEGACY-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: [LEGACY] ERROR 91! > > I hope that you can help me. Hi Listers Can someone tell me how I put Bibliography notes in my Legacy internet Web page because I don't know how I put only about eight in there I would like to delete them and learn how to do it correctly. The date on some of them is 2003 so I have no idea what I did it get them there and I don't even know if they are correct. I need "layman" terms to delete and then maybe "layman" terms to go through all members in my research and add the right ones. Can anyone help someone like me??? With that said, I have what is probably one of several questions that will help me decide if investing in another software program is the thing I should do. My event data is in PAF as tagged notes. So for the 1870 census data it is in the note section as "1870_Census:" . Now, when I do the gedcom import, of course the notes go to the notes section of Legacy.
