    3. Claire, There's no way to link pictures to sources or locations in the Picture Center. Only the individual and the individual's events. If you go to View > Scrapbook and click "Print Picture List" you can create a list of all pictures, sounds and videos that are linked in Legacy and that list will show you who and what the picture is linked to. You can print the list or save it as PDF or Text file. For further help, click on the context sensitive "Help" button in that window. Thanks for using Legacy. I do, however, think there is a time-saving value in doing that - rather than opening the image outside of Legacy based on the file number I had recorded. This is a long shot I'm sure, but just in case I'm missing something - is there any way of doing this through the Picture Center? I can access the folder they're in, but I assume I can only link them to a person in Picture Center and not a source. Oddly enough, the picture filename U column indicates with a + sign that the document is linked, but there doesn't seem to be any way of telling what it's linked to. Boy, it would be helpful if I could do that! Claire

    3. I have been using Adaware and Spybot without any problems. I thought I had switched off the spyware scan of PC-Cillin but parts of it seem to be still running. I have been depending on Windows Defender, as well as the above programs, for spyware, I thought it would probably be better at distinguishing files that are required, but as well as contacting Trend support I will check the settings and make sure all the spyware functions of PC-Cillin are disabled. 3. Other than not using PC-Cillin..... or not allowing it to delete "suspicious" files.... Be very careful about what you let the program remove. Write to their support desk and tell them that their program is removing files necessary for a legitimate program to run and give them the URL for our website so they can download Legacy and check it out. Most likely the files being removed are cia*.* and/or actbar.ocx. Those seem to be associated with known spyware and rather than just removing the spyware exe, the anti-spyware programs are removing any Windows system files that they use also. I've been using AdAware and Spybot Search & Destroy, two freeware anti-spyware programs that are highly rated and haven't caused any problems at all for me. Thanks for using Legacy. 3. True. I have one person who died in Feb 1962, but was not allowed to be buried until summer 1963. (Long story- courts, suits, investigations involved.) I don't actually enter a "Buried" date, unless I have some source I can refer to that I can say, "See, *this* says she was buried on that date. That is where I got it the information." I want some kind of source to support me first. 3. Generally you can calculate the date of burial from the information included in the obituary or death notice for people who died in the 20th and 21st century. 19th century notices are less likely to include this information, but sometimes they do. If the cemetery keeps records, they usually will have a listing of burials by the date they took place. This information is sometimes included in the records for the individual cemetery lot or records for individuals buried in the lot. 3. I do often date burials as "aft [death date]" so that the cemetery info will sort to the most convenient position - right after the death date. It doesn't define exactly when, but it's pretty safe to assume that it was AFTER death! 3. Hi Deb, I struggled with this issue awhile back, as many of us have. Everyone has their own preference. My Master Lists are important to me, and therefore so as to not disrupt the integrity of the Locations Master List by having the names of cemeteries mixed in with the names of towns or cities, I took someone else's advice and list my cemeteries in the same place between the commas as the town, i.e.: Name: Janet Izatt Born: 19 Feb 1786, Culross, Fife, Scotland Died: 4 Feb 1873, Wemyss, Fife Scotland Buried: 6 Feb 1876, Wemyss (McDuff Cemetery), Fife, Scotland This way when I ask for a sort on the town of Wemyss, I can see all who lived, died or were buried in that town, and with all the burials at each cemetery in Wemyss listed together. Hope that helps somewhat. -- Alice > [Original Message] > From: Deb Wetlaufer <debi@wetlaufer.com> > To: Legacy Rootsweb <LEGACY-L@rootsweb.com> > Date: 12/18/2006 8:25:15 PM > Subject: [LEGACY] Cemeteries > > I'm wondering how I should enter cemeteries. 1. Re: [LEGACY] Cemeteries

    3. You can do either, but since you asked, I will share what I am doing. Few examples: Suppose John Doe died Jan 17, 1955, Miami, Florida. I enter it this way: Given Name: John William Surname: Doe Born: 1898-10-20 In Frost, San Bernardino County, California, USA Died: 1955-01-17 In Miami Shores, Miami-Dade County, Florida, USA Buried: 1955-01-20 In: Miami Shores, Miami-Dade County, Florida, USA Ok, that much is pretty straightforward. Now if you are like me, you like to enter specifically where this person is buried. So, in the individual information window, I click on the plus sign, next to the globe and binoculars icon. At that window, I will enter an address; in this case I enter for Burial Address: Name: Locust Grove Cemetery Sort String: Locust Grove Cemetery (Note, some people say it is better to use: "Cemetery, Locust Grove," for search string. This is up to you.) Address: 1500 State Road 9 City: Miami Shores State/Prov: Florida Postal Code 12345 Country: United States Phone1: 123-456-7890 Phone2:333-333-3333 Email: LocustMemorial@ABC.com Home Page: www.LocustGroveCemetery.com [Note: The two hyperlinks are fake. They will not work- I made them up.] But if I know it, I go on to enter the specific location of the cemetery by entering the latitude and longitude of the main gate. I use this so that if I stay somewhere close, I can calculate how far away it is and decide if I have time to travel there. Now, suppose Jane James is buried at a farm cemetery, private cemetery. Then I either enter the name of the cemetery (or give it one), and the rest of the information is basically the same. For Jane, it might read: Name: William James Family Farm Cemetery Sort String: James, William, Family Cemetery Address: 15679 Highway 716 City: Prestonsburg State/Prov: Tennessee Postal Code 12345 Country: United States Phone1: 222-222-2222 (Genealogist #) Phone2: 666-666-6666 (Funeral home) Email: carnealre@adelphia.net Home Page: None. Latitude: 33.3333 Longitude: 0871449.19 Does this help?
