Hi Marla; I have a comment on this line. My GGgrandfather was James Y. LEE b. 1836 in Missouri m. 14 May 1871 , Barry, Missouri to Matilda BOWMAN b. Owsley, Kentucky. I know for a certainty my line to James Y. but can't verify his parents and family so am always looking for James Lees in Missouri during the 1830-50's. And YOU have one listed as the son of Greenberry and Levicy Smith LEE. My James Y. Lee also named his son, my Ggrandfather, Silas Young LEE b. 1880 Gainesville, Cooke, TX. I have long assumed that my James Y. Lee b. 1836 was the son of Ephraim Wilson LEE b. 1787 Franklin, Greene, TN and Nancy Brooks WILLIAMS. I assume this because Ephraim's family was in Newton or Barry Co., Missouri at the time of James Y's birth. They all emigrated to Navarro Co., TX and later to Brown Co., TX as my James Y. Lee also did. I find James Y's wife living right next to one of Ephraim Lee's children in Brown Co., TX. I have had other LEE researchers disagree with my assumption, but can't give an alternate answer. Ephraim LEE was the s/o Abner LEE b. 1764 , Greene, NC & Catherine WILSON. Abner had 13 children by Catherine: 1. Ephraim Wilson b. 9 Sep 1787 TN m. Nancy Brooks WILLIAMS (7 kids: Henry, George Lilburn K., Gresham "Dude", Naomi Williams, Brooks William, Lucinda and possibly James Young) 2. Isabella b. 9 Sep 1787 (twin to Ephraim) TN m. Jesse Mumford GILSTRAP 3. Levi b. 18 Jan 1791 VA m. Mary Virginia MARCUS (12 kids:Lucinda Avarilla, Susannah, Catharine, William, Leroy, Sallie "Ailcey", George Wilson, Andrew Peter, Ezekiel, Sarah Elizabeth, Mary Jane, & Iziller Edna) 4. Richard b. 18 Jan 1791 (twin to Levi) 5. Joseph b. abt 1793 6. George Washington b. 1795 , VA m. Mahala Elvira GRIFFITH (5 kids: Abner Gresham, Ephraim Wilson, Walter Campbell, George Chisholm, & Levi Woodbury) 7. William b. 24 Feb. 1801, Jackson, TN m. Elizabeth (6 kids: Abner, Wilson, William, James, Houston, & Luke) 8. Abner Jr. b. 24 Feb 1801 (twin to William) 9. Young b. 1803 10. Ailsey b. 1805 , Jackson, TN m. Isaiah VAN ZANDT (2 kids: John G. & Parrazeda G.) 11. Malinda b. 1807 m. Ezekiel VAN ZANDT 12. Rawlins b. abt 1809 13. James Henry b. 1814 Abner had a 2nd marriage to Sarah "Sally" Johnson MILLER b. 1795, Jackson, TN d. 1881 TX m. 2 Oct 1835 and had two children: 1. Greenwood LEE b. 1 Oct 1820, Jackson, TN d. 1912 Weatherford, Parker, TX m. 1861 to Mary DAVIS b. 2 Feb 1841 TN. They had 11 kids: John Abner, Emma, James Franklin, William Alexander, Isaac Greenwood, Walter Thomas, Mary Louise Gertrude, Ruda Priscilla, Amy Belle, Sarah Susannah and Ola Virginia. 2. Thomas Granville LEEb. 14 Jun 1823 , Jackson, TN d. 18 Jun 1904 , Ripley, MO m. Emily UPCHURCH. They had 3 children: Robert Samuel, Charles Henry and Myrtle Ruth. Thomas was also m. Belle FIELDS in 1862. This Abner b. 1764 was the s/o Richard Henry LEE b. 1701 and Mary GRESHAM b. 1704 d.
