There is a statement in a 1911 memoir by Thomas Jefferson YOUNGBLOOD that his maternal grandfather was John LEE who married Sarah BEAN in Edgefield Distr., SC. He thought that John's father was also John LEE who was a valued scout for Gen. Francis Marion during Revolutionary War. Need a cite.
