There is much work still to be done on on the Lees of Virginia. I have studied this Lee family and other Lee families in Pennsylvania and New York. I would appreciate a discussion of the Lee family....I have given two copies of original records to the Lee Library in Alexandria, VA one naming at least two children that had not been named for John and Elizabeth Bell Lee. Do you have documentation for a marriage to Alice Felton and his children William and John? I know he inherited his brother's land in Maryland. I know that Hancock lived there (MD) at least 12 years and he wills to the "gentlewoman in Maryland" I believe. That Mary Lee is handling William Lee's estate siignals she was named by William and not appointed by the state. Who was Hancock Pope? Who was the Mary Lee that marries John Fearne in Gloucester Co...Fearne becomes guardian of Lee children? #26 1. Anne/Anna, dau of Hancock and presumably Mary Kendall. EJL states Anna Lee was born prior to 5 Jan 1682, living as late as 1754; married twice. 1) to William Armistead by whom she had: John and Judith, Martha, Mary. Armistead d. ca 13 Jun 1711[Middlesex Co. Will Bk. A 1698-1713 pp. 46&52: William Armistead is named in the wills of William Churchill and Ralph Wormeley and is called brother by Wormeley. Anna was remarried by 1726 to 2) William Eustace. John Eustace son, William m. Anne Lee. John Eustaces will made 23 Dec 1701, pro 15 April 1702 .. names his son William, names William W.____and Elizabeth, his wife, names Thos. Pinchard and Margaret his wife, names John Steptoe and Maurice Linah on the day of his freedom. Exors. were Thomas Pinchard, James Innis and John Steptoe. John Steptoe signs inventory of Hancock Lee; then marries widow of John Eustace by 16 Nov 1719. John Eustaces son William then marries Anne, daughter of Hancock and Sarah Allerton. Wm. Eustace adms. the estate of Sarah Allerton Lee on 16 Jun 1731. 21 May 1735 he is one of the exors. of a Richard Lee and pr. 1735. Wm. Eustace of Wicomico Parish d. between 3 Sep 1739 and 10 Mar 1740, names wife Ann, sons John, Wm. , Hanciock and Issac. Daus. were Elizabeth, Sarah and Ann...he wills land in Prince William, bot in 1727 from George Rust[Pr. Wm Deeds p. 198-202 and in King Geo. from George Evans to Geo. Rust 1727], to his son William...wills Issac land in Pr. Wm. he bought on Pignut Ridge from Capt. John Lee, wit: Elizabeth Howson, Thomas Edwards, Thomas Gaskins.:Northumberland Records...wills p. 65 A (Ref. deed in Warren Co, OH...] If you note the names of the children by Eustace, it would appear that Anne has named her children after the Allertons, Sarah and Issac and not the Kendalls.
