Regarding Helen LEE, a descendant of John LEE, Esquire through his son Captain Thomas LEE and grandson Needham LEE: The city of Helena, Alabama (Shelby County), was named after Helen LEE in 1872 by her future husband Barthelemew (Pete) BOYLE. I have photocopies of some excerpts from a booklet entitled "An Early History of Helena, Alabama" and will be glad to send privately or to the list if anyone is interested in this. The booklet was written by Kenneth PEHNALE. The parts that I copied concern some information on the ROY family (married to LEE) as well as Judge Needham LEE's family. Marlene
