They are not direct ancestors, but a Grandson of his, Bennie Watkins Schober married my grandmother. He had no children of his own and she, and subsequently me and my sister inherited some coin silver spoons and a ring made of diamonds that date from Civil War times. In fact, the family story given to me by my grandmother was that the diamonds and silver coins were taken off of a dead Yankee paymaster during the war and that the coins were later melted down into spoons. The coins have a monogram, but it appears to be NSL, or NTL, but not NWL. I am sure it goes with one of the Needhams, but not sure which one. Does anyone have more info on this family that may shed light on my spoons/diamonds and the story that came with them? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
