I am researching my great grandfather's family history. His name Milton (Mitt) Washington Lee b. Dec 8, 1870 in Simpson County Mississippi. He expired Jan 16, 1945. Mitt's parents were slaves of Milton Chester Beauregard Lee, Esq., and wife Fannie Lou in Simpson County (Skiffer Community). Their names Daniel (Dan) Webster Lee and Harriet. Daniel was born in 1808 in NC. His parents were also born in NC, but I don't have any other information. Stories passed down through the years boasted that Master Beau was a descendant of General Robert E. Lee, but this has not been confirmed. Mitt's siblings from Daniel's (Dan's) first marriage were Mary and Preston. Daniel's (Dan) second wife was Mariah Hubbard. They had three boys Willie, John and William. Mitt married Mattie Payne b. Mar 1877 of Simpson County Mississippi in 1891. They had 11 children Obed, Chellie, Dan, Hugh, Ransom, Onus, Rachel, Mattie, Magdalene, Ellison and Gird. Mitt's second wife Gertrude Mangum b. May 12, 1888 of Simpson County Mississippi. They had 2 children Maudie, Rosa Bena. Any links? Or suggestions on how to pinpoint the NC connections? Thanks so much! Robin
