I am in quest of a William Lee b. 1741, d 1807 Warren Co. OH. where the Lewis Reno below owes the estate a debt. Family was in Frederick Co. VA, then Greene Co. PA, then OH. sons went to IN (Vigo and Bartholomew Co, then west). John Lee, s of Hancock, owned land just north of my William in Warren Co. OH. My family, as many of yours, claimed relationship to the VA Lees. This excerpt is from a compilation I am writing in an attempt to ascertain who my William was. Thought this would be of interest since you have Lewis Runo Lee. There are Renos from PA/NJ but my concentration is on the VA family and how they tie to the Lees. Richard Lee and Mary; Judith b. 1710 m. Henry Halley; John b. 1715 Pr. Wm Co. VA m. 1737 Susannah Thorn; Francis b. 1719; Lewis b. 1712 m. Elizabeth Whitledge. John and Susannah moved to Chartiers Creek, Washington Co., PA in 1765; a deed in Pr. Wm. Co. VA 3-5-1764 conveyed 121 acres of land bequeathed to him by his honored father, Lewis Reno, decd. Their son, Francis, was b. 1758 passed his boyhood with his parents in their new home and received his education in Dr. John M. Williams famous Log Cabin College at Canonsburg PA [8 mi. NE Washington, PA]... m. 1784 Lydia Sevier/Savers b. 15 Jan 1765 Frederick Co., VA, dau John or Valentine Sevier***...ordained 1792 at Christ Church Philadelphia and was sent out to the new settlements in the West...became rector of St. Likes Episcopal Church, Woodville PA ca. 1798 [first Episcopal Church west of Allegheny mts. on land set aside by Maj. William Lea on 1770 VA warrant], settled at Roachester, PA. Another son of John and Susannah Thorn Reno was William b. 2-9-1739 in VA m. Catherine Butler ca. 1760. In History of Allegheny Co. by Creigh: 1778, William Reno,a minister of the gospel also came to court and gave the required oaths of loyalty to and support of the colonies in the Revolutionary War....William went to Tennessee in about 1796 near Pigeon River.
