    3. Good Day, Fellow Researchers - For the past year I've tried, in bits and pieces, to gather and make sense of the surviving records of the Lee families of Rockingham Co, VA, in the late 1700's. I have some pieces; I can't get the sense. Perhaps one of you can help. In 1774 Zachariah Lee and Zepheniah Lee served in the militia company from Augusta Co that marched to Point Pleasant under Capt. William Nalle. In 1775 Felix Gilbert submitted a list of tithables which included the names of William Lee, Zepheniah Lee, Zachariah Lee, William Lee Jr, and Boler Lee. In 1776 Theodocia Lee married James Maiden, Revolutionary War Soldier. In 1781 Zachariah Lee married Jean (Jane) Right (Wright, Bright). >From 1782 until 1798, Boler Lee, William Lee Sr, William Lee Jr, Zepheniah Lee, and Zachariah Lee appear off and on in the property tax records of the county. After 1787 the two Williams are no longer listed. After 1792, Zepheniah is no longer listed. In 1793 Zachariah moved his family to Botetourt Co, VA. And after 1798 Boler (Bolen, Bole, Bo) Lee is no longer listed. In November 1786 Mary Lee, Nathan Lee, and Milley Lee are ordered by the court to be bound out by the overseer of the poor. In April 1787 Mille Lee was bound to Phillip Moyer. In 1789 Mary Lee, orphan, married Bowlin Curtis (Custice). My problem is simple: How (if at all) were these people related to one another? Does ANYONE have any evidence to link any of these people to one another? If so, PLEASE contact me. Vern vstinson@ctaz.com
