I am interested in the families of Henry Lee (b. 1779, NC) and Lewis Lee (b. 1782, NC). My Henry Lee came to GA sometimes prior to 1828, when his son, Henry Bryant Lee, married in Wilkes County. By 1830, Henry Lee was in Twiggs County, which borders Wilkinson County where Lewis had live for some time. By 1840, both Lee families had removed to Stewart County where Lewis died in 1857 and Henry in 1860. I have noticed that both of these families lived very near one another, both originated in NC and the given name Lewis is found in Henry Lee's family. Additionally, the name Bryan or Bryant was used in Henry's family and it is said that Lewis Lee was a Bryan family descendant. I have seen many lineages for this Lewis Lee, but none see very authentic. I am interested in corresponding with anyone who would like to ascertain the connection, if any, between these two families.
