    3. Am beginning research on a LEE family. The family tradition is that the LEE I'm searching for was a cousin of General Robert E. LEE. Mr./LEE, b. Missouri Wife: Amanda/? , b. Missouri, died Wichita Falls, Wichita, TX Child: Tennie Ann LEE, b. 8 Aug 1885 in Missouri. Married J. William DAVIS on 28 Jan 1907 in Montague Co., TX Died 18 Dec 1972 in Wichita Falls, Wichita, TX. Tennie & J. Wm. had a dau.: Opal Mae DAVIS, b. 23 May 1906 in Cadwell, Dunklin, Missouri and died 1988 in Midland, Odessa, TX. Are there websites or family histories who would tell of the Robert E. 3. My suggestions would be to try to find relatives who could tell you more about the family, especially Tennie's siblings. Get birth cert., death cert., or obits wherever possible. Try to find them on the 1900 census in either MO or TX. You might even have to try AR or OK. Most libraries are now online and have the primary level of Ancestry.com that has the censuses for the various years where you might be able to easily find them in a search. Forget about legends about being related to Robert E. LEE or anyone else and just go with what you know. Any other connections will fall into place later, but I think every LEE family has that tradition, and most do have a Robert E. Lee in the family, it seems. 1. quality of sources
    2. Darcy Howard
    3. To you seasoned veterans of genealogy, I need to ask how one determines the quality of a source. The computer program I use gives choices to label the quality of the data entered, such as primary, secondary, questionable or unknown. Sources being census forms, birth/death certificates, marriage records, personal communication with relatives, old letters, family bibles etc. Is there a genealogical standard for classifying these types of categories? Errors appear everywhere it seems, unfortunately including from myself... Thanks. Darcy
