I read through your recent E-mail about Elizabeth Lee who married Zachery Taylor. This Zachery was the grandfather of Pres. Taylor. From information I have, not documented, Elizabeth's parents were Hancock Lee, born before 1664, and Sarah Allerton born about 1666. Hancock's father was Richard Lee, Jr., and his mother was Anne Constable. Richard Lee and Anne Constable were the 3rd great grandparents of Robert E. Lee. If anyone has information that contradicts this I would like to hear from you to correct my data. My husband's surnames contain both Lee and Taylor, and I have been told that there is the chance that his Lee line does link up with Robert E. Lee's line, but I haven't found verification for it yet. From what I have been told, his Lee line came to Va. on the same ship that the Va. Lees came in on, and that it is believed that his Lees were related to R.E.'s predecessors.
