I would also like to see the information you are referring to. This past summer I spent sometime on this John LEE. I was interested because a Henry Jernigan was in the same location at the same time in SC on the Wateree. Henry Jernigan Sr. was the son of Thomas Jernigan of Nansemond County Virginia who lived close to John LEE who received a grant there in 1694. Thomas had two sons Thomas and Henry. I believe that Henry Jernigan married ELizabeth LEE. John LEE, Esquire deeded some Johnstone County property to Elizabeth Jernigan around 1743. Henry Jernigan, who moved to Johnstone County, sold his Nansemond County, VA property.(Kinfolks of Johnstone county) There was a Henry Jernigan, Jr. So I'm not sure which one was in SC. Given the LEE connection in VA and Johnstone County, I thought that there might be a connection in SC. I'm not sure exactly how Elizabeth was related to John LEE, Esquire. However, I am sure that the Nansemond County property was very close to John LEE. Please tell me what county in MD that you think John LEE was from. I have spent some time on JAMES LEE of Charles City County, MD. and other early Maryland LEE's. MAny people from MAryland came to the Albemarle - Chowan area around 1680. There is a possibility that John LEE of Nancemond could have been one. Several people who lived close by came from Maryland or Northumberland County, VA. MAny of these same individuals had earlier been in the Isle of Wright -Norfolk area before going to either MAryland or Northumberland. Do you know for certain that he came directly to SC? Also have you looked at the Lees' of Barbados? Melissa HFTHusma@aol.com wrote: > > Glenda - > I was able to open the Andrea's document you sent. I'm not sure that I rec'd > all of it.
