Hi, I'm looking for information on my great grandfather, Jesse William Lee (or Jesse Whitaker Lee). He was born in Kentucky on January 5, 1847. I do not know his parents names. In 1883 he married Lydia Elizabeth Doak. He was 36; she was 18. They married in Illinois. In the 1900 Census he was in Green Bay, Lee County, Iowa. I have not been able to find this family in the 1910 census. That's what I'm looking for right now. Children that may have been with them at this time would be son, Greenleaf W. Lee, born 1895, and Evalina Marie Lee, born 1908. The family seemed to travel back and forth between Missouri, Illinois, and Iowa. In 1917 Jesse and Lydia were divorced. In 1920 he was living with his daughter, Jessie Beatrice, who was married to Frank Holmes. They were in Missouri. In 1930 he was still living with his daughter but going by the name of William J. Lee. He died in 1931 in Hannibal, MO. Once I establish where they were in 1910 and find his obit from 1931, I hope to find some clues to his life before he married Lydia.
