I am looking for information on the ancestors of a Richard Lee who married a Nancy Dodd in 1789 in Orange County, Virginia. Richard lived in Nelson County and his will, written in 1835, was probated in 1848. Nancy Dodd's father was John Dodd. She also had a sister Sarah Dodd who married Abner Lee and a brother, William Dodd who married Suzanna Lee. Richard's father may have been John Lee and a Milley (last name unknown) based on an Orange County will by John Lee in which this John names Milley as his wife and Richard Lee, Zachary Lee, Susanna, James, Betsy, William, Samuel, Lucy and Sarah as his children. He also mentions Abner Lee as husband of Sarah, and William Dodd as husband of Susan. There is also a will dated August 10, 1775 by Charles Lee in which he mentions his mother, Jenne Lee and a brother Jessee Lee. He also leaves a gun to Richard Lee, son of John Lee to be used by John Lee until Richard becomes of age. Others mentioned in this will are Betty Lee, John Lee again, William Lee, and Daniel Lee. Does anyone have any information on this Lee line? Richard and Nancy had a daughter, Susannah, who married into the Truslow family in Nelson County.
