No, I didn't find any William S. or Samuel LEE. My Lee's move to Brown Co., Texas about 1851. I find it interesting that you have a Green LEE. Unusual name. Does he descend from William LEE b. 1654 , York, VA and Mary GREEN? ---Lorraine > Lorraine - any of those William's: William S. Lorraine - Thank you for your email. Green Lee? I don't know his descent line. Glenbow Museum, Calgary has photographs of him...and he is celebrated as one of the first settlers in S ALberta. HBC post. He came up to Alberta after going to the California Gold Rush....He had a brother named Henry ( harness & buggy business in the US) who visited him here in the late 1880's early 1890's. W.S. Lee arrived here in 1869. Various places named after him......Lee Lake where he had a cattle ranch, Lee Creek, Lee's Post etc...He died in 1896, Crows Nest Pass, Alberta. English. My Grandmother's name was Martha Caroline Lee. Other children Henry, John, William, Elizabeth, Mary... A mystery - I can't find him listed anywhere.... His friends were William Connely, Mart Holloway, Samuel B Steele. He discovered a sulphur spring and built a 5 story hotel named 'the Springs'. maddening. regards jcs At 12:32 am -0700 17/02/2005, Lorraine Dowdle wrote: >No, I didn't find any William S. or Samuel LEE.
