This message is for those descending from Light Horse Harry Lee. A shop in Summerfield NC is selling tapestry throws which includes some history of the Revolutionary War depicted on it. Henry Lee is shown on the throw with his bugler boy that was killed by Tarleton's Dragoons in the area of Bruce's Crossroads which is now called Summerfield NC. Lee was a guest at the home of Charles Bruce when a farmer warned the military that the Dragoons were in the area. In a book by Eli Caruthers, the story is told of the farmer borrowing the bugler's horse to show the soldiers where he spotted the British. The bugler rode behind on the farmer's tired horse and was overtaken by the British and murdered even though crying "quarters". There is a monument in Summerfield honoring Gilles the bugler boy and Charles Bruce and mentioning Lt Horse Harry Lee. The throw shows this "story" on the lower left hand corner and also the Bruce monument along with other historical interest. The throws were made for the Summerfield Founder's Day which was May 14th. There is a limited supply left and you may contact me for more information or call directly to the shop. The full color tapestry throws sell for $70 plus $4.90 tax and s/h charges. This seems high but the throw is very beautiful and worth having. Throws at National Parks in just two tone colors sell for $80. A portion of the sales are going toward the Summerfield Community Park. A throw is hanging in the Summerfield Town Hall. If you descend from this line, you will be very proud to own one and have the history. A Shade Different (336) 643-6811 (They will take orders over the phone with credit card.)
