My GGgrandmother was: Mary A. (Polly) Lee born October 19, 1835 in Tennessee, married Bailey Eddings July 24, 1851 died April 19, 1909. Her father was George W. Lee born 1796 in North Carolina or Virginia. George came from Jackson Co. Tn. with other families in 1842 to Greene Co. Mo. His first wife was Mary Elizabeth Saddler (Polly's mother). His father was Abner Lee a Rev. soldier from Washington Co. VA. married Catharine Wilson Sept 20 1785 in Greene Co. TN. early settlers of Jackson Co. TN. Abner's father was William Lee (will probated 1810, in Russell Co. Va.) family legend says there is a connection with Robert E. Lee would like to prove or discount this.
