    1. Re: LEE-D Digest V97 #18
    2. Dear Kerri, It seems that my LEE ancestors may have been Cherokee. The 2nd wife of my great, great, great grandfather Isaiah Lee, was my great, great, great grandmother Demarias DORMAN. Isaiah was her 2nd husband also. Her first husbands surname was Goddin. She was born in 1817 in Sampson County, North Carolina. Isaiah was born possibly in Richland County, South Carolina in 1806. Isaiah and Demarias married in Pike County, Alabama in 1836. The moved after 1840 to Coosa County, Alabama. It seems that Demarias had a Cherokee mother. My ancestors moved to Quitman, Wood County Texas in about 1903. I'm descended from Isaiah's son Joseph Calvin Lee, his grandson John Calvin Lee, his great-grandaughter Ida Elizabeth Lee, and great, great grandson Talmadge Westmoreland. It is interesting to note that Isaiah's son Levi Lee moved to Arkansas after the Civil War. His descendant Charles Hamilton is online with this service at chasm@insync.net. Linda
