Joseph and Priscilla (Sparhawk) Lee b. 6 Jul 1804 m. 7 Oct 1831, at Milo, ME Ebenezer Parsons Greenleaf d. April, 1847. (five chidlren) Martha Laurens Lee, of Milo, ME b. 18 May 1814 m. 1 Jan 1849 at Bucksport, ME Moses Greenleaf d. 6 Aug 1855 Bucksport, ME (no children) John Lee, the ancestor of Mary Abigail and Martha Laurens Lee, was an early settler of Ipswich, MA. The "History of John Leigh or Lee, of Ipswich, 1634-1671, published at Albany, NY, 1888," contains accounts of transfers of property: Thomas Lord to John Leigh, Aug 20, 1666; John perkins to John Lee, Nov 4, 1669. "It was by the calmness and resolution of Jehn Perkins," says the author, "that the little colony (Ipswich) in its first spring plantation, 1633, was preserved from extermination by the Indians, the Tarrantines, who visited them in forty canoes."
