All- This is a corrected resubmission. During the RW Francis Marion (later General) was a leader of SC militia units that operated as guerrilla forces against the British and were the eyes and ears of General Greene's Army opposing the Red Coats and the affiliated Tories. Among General Marions troops was a John Lee who was a celebrated scout. This John Lee has not been identified with any of the many Lee families in SC at the time. More is needed on where (county or counties) General Marion recruited his men. what SC units were under General Marion's command, and where General Marion's home was located.
