However, Rich Jimmy is exactly where the problem is. There is no proof that he is the son of Rich Jimmy - although many of the earlier researchers have tried to place him there. I have been told that he most likely is the John Lee, Esq or JLX line. There is ample DNA from proven members of John Lee but without a DNA from a Tobias Lee descendant, we can't place him there. This has been worked on by several generations and no one yet has the definitive answer. Therefore, I'm looking for a DNA donor to see if we can cross this brick wall. I'm female and we need a male Lee - my group descends from Tobias' daughter. But Tobias D. had 2 sons - one James Madison Lee who had 6 sons, the other Vernie Lee who had 2 sons. Any of those descendants would be great donors - or anyone who can trace their lineage to Tobias B. 1803 in Darlington SC - whose mother was Elizabeth Severance would also produce the same information.
