Dear Subscribers, I have long been stumped by the parentage and background of one Elias Lee, born 1821 in Illinois. He moved to the Republic of Texas in 1841 and married Rebecca South by whom he had a large family. According to census records, Elias' unknown father was born in Kentucky, and his mother in South Carolina. Both Elias and his wife are buried in McClain Co., Oklahoma. Their surviving children were: 1. Louisa 1846-1870? 2. Mary Ann 1849-1910 3. Elvaney Luraine 1851-1942 4. Naomia Jane 1853-1915 5. Nancy D. 1862-1939 6. Daniel Grant 1865-1940 7. Henry H. 1870-1910 Does anyone have a Lee ancestor in early Illinois whose parents were from Kentucky and South Carolina? Any help would be greatly appreciated. George Lee
