I noticed that in the Fauquier County Virginia Personal Property Tax Lists that there are several Kendalls living with or working for persons related to the Kendall-Lee lineage: Year Person Charged w/Tax 1788 John Blackwell Benjamin Kendall 1789 John Blackwell Benjamin Kendall 1790 Hancock Lee Jesse Kendall 1796 E Richard Beale Traverse Kendall 1797 E Richard Beale Traverse Kendall There was also a lease between John Blackwell and John Kendall/Hendall and his wife Mary for 50 acres on Marsh Road 1791 and 1798. A John Blackwell of Fauquier County married Judith Lee, daughter of Kendall Lee and great-granddaughter of Hancock Lee and Mary Kendall. A Hancock Lee of Fauquier County married Winifred Beale, sister to E Richard Beale. This makes Benjamin, Jesse, John and Traverse Kendall all having a relationship with a Kendall-Lee family. Now bear with me as I am just tossing out ideas and information. I am not trying to force any relationships without documentation. My questions are, were these Kendalls living with possible cousins, were they aware of a family connection or was it just a coincidence? Scott I really do not know. I have found William J. Lee, Born 1801. He is buied in the Drane Cemetery Located on Bush Lane, Gallatin, TN. This much I know. He is as far back as I can get. (so far). I think he was born in VA, but do not know the county. Any information you have will be appreciated.
