To the subscribers on the lists that this message is sent to - Please accept my apology for sending this message, but due to a Rootsweb problem I decided that I had to do something to figure out how deep the problem is regarding my ability to send messages to any Rootsweb mail list. I am sending this message to see if Rootsweb is denying messages sent by me to any list or just one particular list (Macoupin Co IL). After Bill Utterback, administrator of the Jackson Purchase list sent out a message about the problems regarding SORBS, I then started checking my failed delivery messages and turns out that they were from Rootsweb with the SORBS name indicated. The administrator for the Macoupin Co IL list unsubscribed me and then re-subscribed me to the list manually and Rootsweb still refused to deliver my messages. If anyone else is having the same problems, feel free to contact me and see what has to be done to get the "glitch" fixed. Debbi Geer

My grandmother was a Richards. Her grandmother was named Anna Lee Richards. My grandmother told me that Anna Lee was a niece or great niece of Robt E Lee. Do you have any information that would prove that? I have even been to the Daughters of the American Revolution Library and they pointed me to this site! Anna Lee married Joseph Richards and lived in Alabama, I think. In my crude calculations, Anna Lee would have been born somewhere around 1850-1870. Any direction would help! Thanks. I believe they were related to CSA Col John Esten Cooke who is buried at the Bishop Meade Chapel in Millwood VA. He is buried about 30 ft from Gov Edmund Jennings Randolph who was Thomas Jefferson's father. If you read John Esten Cooke's book about the life of Hunter John Myers and his daughter Sally Myers, you will see the Myers family is also involved. I the Myers family is still alive and they are connected to the Myers family of Ft Myers in Lee County Florida. Lee County was named after General Robert E Lee. My brother, Daniel Roland Lee, just turned in his DNA, and got the results back last week, we have no clue what it means right now, I forwarded the results to the project administrator, and he'll sort all that out for us, I don't know if we'll ever figure out who Roland V. Lee's parents actually were, but hopefully we'll get some sort of answer about something! sincerely, melissa lee Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
