Dear Fellow Lees, I am looking for the origins of Thomas LEE, resident of Jamaica, Middlesex Co., VA, as early as 1662, he died there in 1709. He married Elizabeth and mentions in his will of March 8, 1709, his son Charles Lee b. 1683, daughters Mary Lee Jones and Ann Lee Gardner and Elizabeth Lee Mullins, grandsons Thomas Lee and Charles Lee and granddaughter, Elizabeth Mullins. Thomas LEE Sr. was the first known Lee of our line in America and had a small plantation of 300 acres when he died. His Lee family stayed in Middlesex Co., VA for the next 200 years and are listed in the Christ Church Parish Register. (See "The Lee Family of Middlesex Co., Va., Virginia Historical Magazine, Jan.1941, pg 75-78 for the full family line.) Any information about Thomas LEE would be helpful. So far, I have not connected him to the Cobbs Hall Lee line of Ricahrd Lee the immigrant. Related lines: Jones, Gardner, Mullins, Hampton, Montague, Cheney, Buford, Latane, Probart, Tuggle, Bird, Jacobs, Garrett, Garner, Day and Putnam. Thank you. Pamela Lee Cranston

I'm looking for the parents of Robert Lee 1820?-1875 He married Mary Moss Winfield. They had 4 children: John Henry, Charles Henry, Robert Henry and Amanda. They lived in Philadelphia PA Thank you, Suzie salash@aol.com
....... Looking for the parents of Thomas LEE, Prince William County resident from 1827 until his death around 1880. He was born about 1805. Thomas first appears in personal tax records in 1827 and in census records in 1830. He married Malinda/Verlinda (both spellings are prevalent) about 1830. Had 6 children, two of whom died during the war (Albert Brawner LEE and Richard Minor LEE). His wife died 22 Dec 1858; don't think he ever remarried. I have been unable to find his ancestry. It looks like he may have migrated into PW county; he owned no land, but seems to have been a tenant farmer his entire life. In later life, personal tax records show he owned a horse, a cow, a clock and a pocket watch. He wasn't well off, but did okay. I can find no record of a will for himself nor any of his children. Does anybody have a Thomas LEE in their lines meeting these specs? How about an extra Thomas LEE on a family branch? I'll take anything! I'm scraping here! --Jim Biloxi Mississippi .......

My gr-gr-gr grandmother was Jessie LEE, wife of John Stonewall CHENNAULT and mother of the late Gen. Claire Lee CHENNAULT of the Flying Tigers. Jessie was born in August 1876 in Louisiana and died about 1898 when Claire was only 5 years old. I found information online (but have been unable to confirm whether it's true or not) that Jessie married John S. CHENNAULT on 7 Dec 1892 in Franklin Parrish, Louisiana. Jessie's parents were: William Wallace LEE b. in Georgia and Josephine (maiden name u/k). Somehow Jessie's father is connected to a Henry LEE who is written about in the County history of (I believe it's) Stewart County, Georgia. I have not been able to obtain a copy of this book. Is there anyone who can find this book who could photocopy the bio. on this Henry LEE?? I would gladly reimburse them for the photocopies and postage. Please e-mail me if you can. Thank you! Garen Lee Smith
My great grandmother was Mary Francis Lee, daughter of Mathias Lee and Mary Henderson. She married Thadeus Elmer Love. They lived in Williamson County, Texas early 1900's and had 10 children. I have done a lot of research on the Loves, and am trying to locate Lee cousins now. Mary had a sister who married one of Thadeus' brothers, Robert Love. Any cousins out there? Please write.

I spent a good deal of time yesterday typing up the census sheets I had for Barry Co MO that listed Lee's. Adjacent families are included. I've uploaded them and you can find them by going to my home page: http://www.concentric.net/~slee and clicking on the links. There are a few there that I've not identified as yet (Lutheny, Eliza, A.J.) some of these living in someone else's household. If anyone has info on any of the Lee's listed, please let me know. Thx Shelley slee@concentric.net http://www.concentric.net/~slee

Does anyone know who these LEA/LEE records belong to and if there is any relationship between the them? Francis LEE and Isaac LEE on petition to form Roane Co in Fall of 1799, then living in the eastern part of Roane, and no record of his having sold the property there. Might be records in Knox Co KY as Roane formed 1801 and Francis appears to have lived in that area taken from Knox (1st Constable of Roane). Roane Co Minute Book A, 1801-1805, p10 22 Dec 1802: Francis LEA, Patrick Burns and Robert Kirkpatrick were by the court at this term apptd constables for the County of Roane entered bond .sworn .. He was still constable June 1803 Session and Mar 1804. P187 21 Mr 1803 - Francis LEA served on jury for county Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions. Francis LEA and William LEA serving on juries and in Roane Co Court of Pleas and Quarter Sesions Min Bk B 1805-1807, p61: William LEA in 1805-07 served as constable. Francis LEA and William Lea serving on juries thru Sep 1807. William LEA vs William Davidson (estate): Jan 1806 and levied on a lot joining Kingston whereon William LEA formerly resided and no property found 3rd day of Mar 1806, cause continued. [appears from Roane records that Francis LEA, William LEA, and David LEA were all involved in land disputes - they were being sued for trespass-would this have anything to do with old NC Grants???] Then BLEDSOE CO formed from Roane: Bledsoe Co DB 12 Nov 1817; George Taylor sells to Francis LEE (b 1760-70), 50a in Sequatichie Valley, adjoining Adam Sherril and includes his improvement.
