    3. Hi Nora; Well, I am not sure I will be able to help but.... For your Elizabeth LEE b. 1803, I have the daughter of Miller LEE and Margaret "Peggy" CARSON. Elizabeth was born 3 Mar 1803. Miller is b. 1 Jul 1769 Buckingham, VA. He was married in Campbell Co., Virginia and a year later moved to Logan Co., Virginia and then a few more years to Butler Co., Virginia where he and Peggy lived for 12 years. Then they moved back to Logan, Co. on the "Big Whipporwill" and lived there for 3 years then to Christian Co., Virginia where they buried their 8th child (11 mon). Had another son then in the fall of 1818 moved to Talladega Co. In late Feb of 1847 they moved to Caddo Parish, Louisianna then last of Jan 1848 moved to Rusk Co near Main Rabbit Creek. If you think this is a line you want I can give you more. I couldn't find any plausible matches on the other two. Good luck! ---Lorraine On Wednesday, February 16, 2005, at 08:39 AM, [email protected] wrote: > Lorane, > IF you have been collecting for 20 years or so, you have a lot of > Lees!  I am a Lee researcher also.  But, I have two lines and they > don't seem to connect at all...so I have double the search that you > have.  I have been sitting at the brick wall for so long that I think > I have roots that keep me there! >   > Could you check your files for these? >   > ELIZABETH LEE (Betsy)  b. 1803.  Married Charles Palmer b. 1795 of > Screven Co. 3. Audrey: Please contact me directly. I would like to hear more about your research. From what I know of this line, Andrew and Nancy Ann Wilson had 7 children: Hannah, Susannah, Gresham, Nancy, John Wingfield, Wilson and Sarah Ann. From the dates I have of the children's births, and the fact that Gresham never married, I'm not sure this is a potential fit, but am curious to know what you have for Andrew's siblings and other Lees in the area. I've been tracking the Lee lines in Chester County, Edgefield and Fairfield for quite some time hopint to solve the mystery of one James B or James E Lee, born ca 1804 and died in Chester County in 1876. Family folklore handed down is that he was born in Edgefield county, but I've yet to find a match. The line continues in Chester county to this day, and I've included a brief lineage below in case it rings a bell with anyone new to this forum. Would love to hear more about this line. I've accumulated quite a bit of information on the line, but have been unable thus far to link to it -- would love to compare notes. Also, if there are any male descendents in your family interested in all of this, we need to get them involved in one of the Lee, Leigh, Lea DNA studies. I'm convinced this is one of the only ways we're going to sort through all of this. I'd be happy to share information on the projects if you'll contact me. I look forward to hearing from you at the above address ([email protected]) Regards, Gary Descendants of James B. Lee --------------------------- 1-James B. 2. Lorraine, I recently learned that my Lee family descended from Andrew Lee, born in NJ in 1745, died 30 Dec 1795 in Lee's Ferry, Edgefield Co, SC. He was married to Nancy/Ann Wilson, born 8 Apr 1757 in Prince William, VA, died 12 Nov 1818 in Leesville, Lexington Co, SC. Date of Marriage: 1774. This Andrew Lee's father was Gershom Lee, born 1698 in Ireland, died 1750/54 in Piscataway, Middlesex, NJ. Married in 1731 to Mary Drake, born 19 Feb 1711 in Piscataway, Middlesex, NJ, died 1750 in NJ. Nancy/Ann Wilson's father was Russell Wilson, born 1735 in Laurensberg, Prince William, VA, died Edgefield District, SC, date unknown. Married in 1756 to Susannah Rutherford, born 1735 in Frederick, VA, died Edgefield District, SC, date unknown. Are you by any chance related to this line? Audrey (Lee) Skutnik

    1. Charles LEE at Battle of Stony Point, NY 1779
    2. It is claimed that there was a Capt. Charles LEE at the Battle of Stony Point, NY 1779. Several VA Light Infantry Companies (6) took part in the assault, also, the Legion of Major Light Horse Harry LEE provided security for the operation, and the brigade under Brig. Gen. Muhlenberg was back up/reserve. This brigade included VA Regiments. Captain Charles LEE could have served in any one of these units. If so, who was he? 3. Hi Lorraine, Which set of LEE'S in Brownwood, Texas do you have info. on? My g-g-ggrandfather William Lee, b. 1818 in Ga. (lived in Alabama until 1877) migrated to Brownwood, Brown Co., Texas. All of his children moved with him. He married Mary Elizabeth Young in Barbour County Alabama in 1851. By 1870 they had moved to Baker Co. Al. (later renamed Chilton Co.) . I have not found him in any census before 1860. I believe his father was John Anderson LEE, who died in Macon Co., Alabama in 1839. I need to order a microfilm from the LSD Library to see in any more info was in the loose papers of the estate of Green Lee, Administrator Asa Lee dated July 1839, or when Asa Lee was appointed guardian of his younger brothers and sisters. Asa Lee was found in the Macon County censusin 1840. Thank you.
