My great grandmother, Marie or Mary was born in Canada on 5/15/1860. I'm told that's she's the only child of a previous marriage and that her mother died when she was an infant, but not a newborn & that she was placed with another couple who moved to Oxford MA. I can never find a record of her birth or her parents marriage. Her mother's name was listed as Philomeine Oakes in her marriage record (Cyrille Foournier - spouse) at Notre Dame Church in Central Falls. My mother told me that she took her to Central Falls once or twice to visit her half sibling, but didn't have any more info.. I'll follow some of the leads in this record. thanks.
