Hello I've recently discovered that my g g grandmother, Mathilda LEDUC b. ca 1810, was the daughter of Guillaume LEDUC & Elizabeth MONTPETIT- POITENVIN who were married in 1811 in Beauharnois, Quebec. Does anyone know about the heritage of this family? Any clues appreciated. Merri
Hello Merri, I have in my file a Guillaume Leduc that married a Elisabeth Montpetit-Poitevin in 1802 in Vaudreuil County instead of Beauharnois, they had a daughter named Mathilda that got married in Beauharnois County in 1841. I have listed for this couple 7 more married children. This Couple's daughter Mathilda married a McPherson or McPharson (both spellings were used in the marriage indexing). The names are the same but the dates are different. I have 6 children that married listed for Mathida. Is this the same family as you mentioned? Nina Every hour spent on genealogical research, however unproductive it appears, is worthwhile. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Merri Vinton" <merzi@arvig.net> To: <LEDUC-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, January 10, 2008 5:45 PM Subject: [LEDUC] LEDUC-MONTPETIT-POITENVIN Hello I've recently discovered that my g g grandmother, Mathilda LEDUC b. ca 1810, was the daughter of Guillaume LEDUC & Elizabeth MONTPETIT- POITENVIN who were married in 1811 in Beauharnois, Quebec.
