I can also see where this stuff is hard to find. I search half of these names and never found the links you just showed. I have learn something else that a french-canadain cousin told me about the "dit" name. It seems back in the day the oldest son had a choice of taking the fathers surname if he did his younger brothers would choose other sur names. Add the different ways that records keepers spelled the same name, Mary Bibeau, Pepeau, Bibot. Finally add that French sounds nothing like English and it's a wonder anyone can trace their family history past the oral memory. Thanks again Chris that was a tremendous help.
