Family stories tend to make the search more difficult, you're looking for evidence that may not exist, while ignoring what is right in front of you. "son of Charles Leduc Born ?-1889. Told me that my grand-grandfather was married to an Indian and had two sons Edward and Matthew." I knitted some data back together of the Paul line, this would be the Indian line your great grand-father married, correct? I'm not finding any evidence that Paul was first nation or metis, nor her parents or her siblings. The data provided by joyness1 is relatively correct, the marriage of Charles Leduc to Louise Paul is correct, however those weren't the parents of your Edward C Leduc, it was an his uncle. Your great-grand father was Edward Leduc, a brother of Charles Leduc. He married Rose Paul, a sister of Louise Paul. Rose remarried in 1891 after the Edward's death? (hunting accident?) to Joseph Levine. Edward C Leduc was brought up by his mother (Rose (Paul) Leduc) and her 2nd husband, Joseph Levine. His mother had a few more children with her second husband, Joseph Levine, these be 1/2 siblings to your grandfather, as they share the same mother.
