Hello Everyone, Due to the recent spamming of some of the list at Rootsweb.com by the same spammer who brought down MAISER, I have instructed the listmaster at Rootsweb.com to set the Ledford Mailing List to accept no messages from anyone who is not a subscriber to the list. In the last couple of weeks, there have been some messages sent to the list by people who are not subscribed to our list. These messages have not been of the disruptive type, just a general 'searching everywhere' message. When I decided to set up the Ledford Mailing List, it was with the intention of having it as an aid to the people who are researching the Ledford, not as a everything to everyone list. We have list for that already. This move is not to stop anyone who wants to join in and work with us. I do not feel that a spammer will subscribe, spam the list, then unsubscribe. They want to do their deed and move on. And they do that under a false front. I hope that each of you understand the reason for this..... and it will not effect anyone who receives this message. With all of us, it is work as usual. Now... has anyone made any major discoveries lately?
