Carolina. Her father was Alford (Alfred) Ledford, b. about 1813 in North Carolina. Her mother was Eleanor (last name unknown) born about 1812 in North Carolina. The 1850 Tippah County census shows Alford and Eleanor Ledford and children: Mary Ann, Lucy, Sarah, Chester, Elizabeth, John, Alford, Marsha, and Wm. I have not been able to find any of this family before or after this census. Mary Ann Ledford married William M. Fryar and lived in Tippah County, Mississippi. They had the following children: John, Mary, Thomas H., Sarah "Sallie" (my grandmother), Martha, and Dorthula "Dollie". Any information will be greatly appreciated. Jan T.
