    3. I added my living children to my line and to my surprise I saw last week that my daughter and her husband needed temple work done.  They were married in the temple and I didn't think anyone could see living people in your family.  When I checked it out I found out my son-in-law was deceased with "no death date given" typed on the death date line.  Not only that, he had a second wife and a new set of parents.  I broke the news of the second wife to my daughter and called my son-in-law to ask how it was on the other side.  I was no longer listed as the contributor, it was Family Search.  There were also listed "multiple contributors" which I checked out.  Family Search had been listed as the contributor twice after some events.  I was still listed as the contributor for my daughter and her child. I called support for help on this and after deleting the relationship between my grandchild and her father and between my daughter and her husband, I was able to re-enter my son-in-law and set it right again.  I am still puzzled how information can be added to living people from an outside source. I called and talked to familysearch about some of the things that are popping up because there has been so much added and messed up on my Grandfather just in the last month.  They told me as they start moving things over in preparation for  the new Family Tree  change there will be a lot of things change and that they need us to let them know when there are problems .  Michelle From: Denise Sorensen Sent: Saturday, July 07, 2012 9:44 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [LDS-WC] Is this happening to anyone else-NFS all messed up? Same thing happened to me on NFS.  I have seen work that I did, now show incomplete; names that were combined are suddenly uncombined.  Having the same issues as Carrie.  This is very frustrating. 3. I want to thank all the contributors on this subject that have made postings in our group. I have not been actively using nFS for about a months because of company and vacation time so I appreciate knowing about this in the event that I find things out of order on my data. The most recent posting confirmed to me the instructions given to us not to add living people to our lines except under the circumstances that they are needed as a bridge or already part of the church records that appear with our family group. It does seem puzzling that the information was added to living people but I am not sure that the system would see FamilySearch contributions as an outside source which it sounds as if this was. It seems as if FamilySearch support will need all the patience and assistance we are able to give to make another transition for the FamilyTree view as it becomes more readily available. I know that we all feel that it is great to have completed saving ordinances for thousands of our ancestors and it is. Lately, though, I have come to the conclusion that it is better to do more well, with enough documentation that we and others can uniquely determine that person as our ancestor or not as our ancestor than it is to have contributed many with sketchy data. >From time to time, I correspond with other distantly related relatives, either from Ancestry.com or through the church records, with the comment more than once that they feel I am very "intense" about my research. They do not mean it in an unkind way; only that their research has been based on perhaps just one source and sometimes relationships are assumed because of association on that one document. This could be a passenger list or census record that does not indicate the relationships. In past years, it was very difficult to find more than one record because of the time involved in rolling microfilms and snail mail correspondence. Now we have so many resources available to us such as the church has Ancestry.com back into the FamilySearch centers along with other such resources so the effort needs to be made to compare as many sources as can be found and then submit the information based on multiple sources. Thank you again for the recent postings on the subject of errors in nFS.
