    1. Re: [LDS-WC] reserving mother's name
    2. I clearly think we are dealing with another church member who is not only NOT following the policies about consulting with closest relatives, but is mean-spirited to boot. In this case, I see no problem with your ward member entering the mother's name and "oops I made a typo on the death date" and reserving the work. Because the relative is uncooperative, I think your patron should move ahead quickly before this unkind relative beats her to it. The rules exist to protect people like your ward member, but obviously they are not doing it. She can take the matter into her own hands...but that's how I'd do it. This is a matter of "spirit of the law vs. letter of the law." Michele In a message dated 4/11/2009 11:08:20 A.M. Pacific Daylight Time, grdavis@centurytel.net writes: Lol. I don't know if it is a sin to lie to a computer, Alan, but my ward member is making this a subject of prayer. She is hesitant to go around any policies set by the church but had promised her mother she would do the work and wants very much to do it. It is a dilemma. Thanks for your suggestions and all the others. At least it appears there are some ways of circumventing the system if needed. ----- Original Message ----- From: Whitcomb To: lds-ward-consultant@rootsweb.com Sent: Saturday, April 11, 2009 6:12 AM Subject: Re: [LDS-WC] reserving mother's name If you won't adapt the death date to reserve it.. someone else might...
