Personal feelings: reserve what you can reasonably do yourself (with help of close family) & either send the rest you find to extended family or temple file. Sometimes I notice that temple file is done in a week, and those I've chosen to do myself are waiting as I chip away at the small pile (we have four of us working on them.) It is not ALWAYS finished that fast, but frequently. I know a most of the names in the baptistry are temple file, and I don't know how fast those get completed. I can only worry about my own family, though I confess that as I work with my converts in this capacity, I start feeling a strong kinship with their relatives as well, though I have no rights of precedence other than helping their family member. As a consultant who is in the process of starting members ,old and new, off onto nFS, would it be a wise thing, when the moment arises, to suggest to them that they limit the number of their requests for doing the ordinance work ? What I mean is, for them not to rush ahead beyond their 4 generations of direct line with their 'reserves'. I have noticed how easy it is to say you want to do the work yourself without thinking of the how's and when's of getting it done. In fact one of the sisters I am working with has decided to leave it for others to do the work because she is older and cannot be sure of her visits to the Temple. She has, of course, done her immediate family ancestors. I am in England and have been working out 'best practice', which one only discovers as one goes along or from such discussions as these. I think limiting the number of cards they get will probably be a good idea in the light of all that has been said and certainly in my own experience. Could you comment please?
