    1. [LDS-WC] Anybody familiar with "French Canada" terms?
    2. I know that French Canada is Quebec, and that English Canada referred to Ontario. But someone asked me today what the RA after the French Canada meant. Anybody have any ideas? My Canadians were all from NBrunswick. Thanks, Karen **************Check all of your email inboxes from anywhere on the web. Try the new Email Toolbar now! 3. If it is a census record, RA means "Rural Area". I guess it would refer to an unincorporated area. Here are some other census abbreviations for Canada. Census geographic areas * CA - Census agglomeration * CAR - Census agricultural region * CCS - Census consolidated subdivision * CD - Census division * CMA - Census metropolitan area * CSD - Census subdivision * CT - Census tract * DA - Dissemination area * DB - Dissemination block * DPL - Designated place * EA - Enumeration area * ER - Economic region * FED - Federal electoral district * FSA - Forward sortation area * LDU - Local delivery unit * LOC - Locality * MIZ - Census metropolitan area and census agglomeration influenced zone * PCA - Primary census agglomeration * PCMA - Primary census metropolitan area * PN - Place name * PR or Prov. - Province * RA - Rural area * Terr. - Territory * UA - Urban area * UP - Unincorporated place This is the link where I found the information. http://www12.statcan.ca/census-recensement/2006/ref/symb-ab-acr-eng.cfm Mary Scott Northville Ward Westland Michigan Stake Detroit Michigan Temple ________________________________ From: "Sahara346@aol.com" <Sahara346@aol.com> To: lds-ward-consultant@rootsweb.com Sent: Saturday, April 18, 2009 11:36:35 PM Subject: [LDS-WC] Anybody familiar with "French Canada" terms?
