    3. I have a ward member who wants to do her mother's temple work. She nursed her mother through her illness and her mother passed away last month. She has a distant, estranged cousin who is active on NFS and has said that she is submitting the mother's name for temple work. Is it possible for the ward member to reserve her mother's name for temple work prior to the one year wait time? If not, are there other ways she can preserve her right to do her mother's temple work?

    3. I would contact Salt Lake and explain the situation to them. They will be able to advise your ward member of things she can do to ensure that she can do her own mother's temple work. They may have a way of blocking the cousin. It would be interesting to the list to know the answer so would appreciate it if you could share the results of your conversation with Salt Lake. 3. Yes she can reserve to prevent others. Also she need to tell that cousin to back off and let her take care of her mother. 3. I don't know if it is ok to discuss problems here in NFS so I can be contacted directly.I came across a big mess on my line today and don't know how to fix.I have a great great grandfather William Brown KF5S-5G9Spouse is Mary Anne Hunslow KLM3-DPGThey have a daughter Mary Ann that I picked up in 1860 census only. KJZL-L1Z 1852-1870Problems. gender is unknown. I try to edit and it will not give me female as a choice.I believe this child died before 1870 however if you click on her spouse and children it shows Mary Ann in the husband position, spouse is another Mary Ann (1857) plus another parent is Mary Ann Eckenrode, gender unknown.I don't know how this names got into my file. I don't know a Mary Ann Eckenrode. a Mary Ann Wales (M9HS-B8W)showing as the child of husband listed as my Mary Ann 1852-1870 withwife as Mary Ann 1857. There is more information linked to the child Mary Ann Wales.Any help would be appreciated.ThanksNancy nlgibert@ameritech.net

    3. Nancy I would go to summary and choose combined records at the bottom and look at who was combined with who and then uncombine the wrong persons. First before you do anything look at who is combined to who. A wrong wife may have to be uncombined by uncombining a husband or a child. Create an overview and then go ahead till your record is in order again. (It may be possible - you might have to ask Salt Lake for help on particularly hard cases - like the one I had where an inactive sister had submitted the parents with opposing genders and 4 out of 7 or 8 children. It is not possible to combine the children with their alter egos and the parents the same - it has been solved by Salt Lake). 3. Busybodies do not get on ahead of the rest just because they did the ordinances. They create animosity where it should not be present. Overall, not at ALL in templework. 3. The responses you received about the patron reserving her mother would be correct. the cousin is not the closest living relative, and in all kindness should not attempt to do it. The patron will have to wait a year before doing the ordinances, but can be reserved now. If it is in her reserved list it is safe from anyone else doing it.
