I can see the pumpkin splattering every which way when you hit the first of anything with it. But then we can make pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, pumpkin soup, and a host of other pumpkin foods for dinner. Knots of any kind are hard to split in wood, making a clean split next to impossible, as they tend to split to one side or another.
