Thanks for the responses. The problem is that I have lots of notes from PAF, in the Silicon Valley Users Group format from the 1990s, and two patrons I work with have similar existing notes in the PAF files their parents did. We are unable to see how to enter these sources into Family Tree. As I mentioned, in the interest of making the source material readily available, and since the sources are not in proper bibliographic format, it looks like the best solution is to create custom facts and events under "Other Information" in Family Tree, rather than spending a lot of time worrying about what goes where to fit the format in "Create a Source" in either Source Box or Sources for each person. Here is a screen capture example of how I am cutting/pasting my PAF sources into custom events and facts: http://www.utahrails.net/images/joseph-munich_FS-FT-Sources.jpg I will continue this process for my PAF sources, but will follow the guide lines for proper sourcing for newly discovered information, including using Tree Connect where appropriate. I like the new Family Tree User Guide that just came out, dated May 10, 2013. It has lots of help for sources, on pages 107-134, that we were not aware of before. http://broadcast.lds.org/eLearning/fhd/Community/en/FamilySearch/FamilyTree/pdf/familyTreeUserGuide.pdf Don Strack On Mon, May 27, 2013 at 9:59 PM, W David Samuelsen <dsam52@sampubco.com>wrote: > use TreeConnect for books, any site outside of FamilySearch, and any > databases not having indexes within Records. > > go to RecordSeek.com and follow instruction to add TreeConnect button. > > David Samuelsen > > On 5/27/2013 10:34 AM, Ann Amadori wrote: > > FamilySearch has live Research Assistance available via chat or phone. > > See https://familysearch.org/ask/researchAssistance > > > > Missionaries also answer phone calls to 1-866-406-1830in the US.
