I have seen this a lot in Scandinavian lines. I offered to help my daughter-in-law with some research and found that someone had gone to all the end-of-line lines, added Jens and Mrs. Jens, Christen and Mrs. Christen, Hans and Mrs. Hans, etc., etc. and reserved temple work for them. No attempt was made at any kind of research or documentation. Once something like this is allowed to go through, who is going to go in to see what if any documentation can be found? Say, such as checking for the death and burial records to determine actual names? What kind of an identity is that?
