    2. There may be some confusion. The First Presidency letter last year said...get your cards done that you've been holding onto forever. (except fancier) It echoed Elder Scott's remarks in conference. The recent discussion has been about the concern that a few temples are creating drawers for cards (including newly minted cards) for stake patrons to use instead of using the temple provided slips (which come from recently "shared" ordinances by members.) The concern was that temple patrons would continually be using these old and newly minted cards at the expense of folks who had legitimately contributed to the temple file expecting a reasonable turn around since names are sent to the closest temple of the submitter.
