Jorge, What you are asking for, can easily be done with Tree Connect. I first learned about from this e-list and have been using in my teaching ever since. It's fabulous! It's a free downloaded bookmarklet that works with any image online. To install it: go to recordseek.com and drag the "tree connect" icon to your bookmark bar. Once you are on the web page with image you wish to save as a source (no need to download the image and save as a photo,) click on the tree connect icon and the "create a source" automatically comes up (after you sign in with Family Search the first time you use it during that session.) The source information is automatically filled in for you- expect the description box. And it's all editable if you don't like the default information they have included. Edit any information you wish, add a description is you wish, click save. And it's created a source complete with the link to the image online and saved it to your source box. You create a single source for the image, and then can link it to all of the members of your family listed on that image. Then add in the specific information for your person when you attach the sources to Family Tree and it asks why you are attached this source. So one image is easily attached to multiple family members. As I indicated last week, and several have requested it- I have a handout about how to get Tree Connect and how to use it. Let me know and I will be happy to forward that information to you. I expected there would be something in common in the source listing of all people using the same "film" or group of images. It would also be lovely if I could simply post a link to the record image (then zoom into my record portion of it) instead of downloading it and adding it as a "photo." Maybe in a few years?
Dear Tammy, I would be very appreciative if you would send your handout to me. Thank you. Darleen Fuller bdfuller@aol.com I have a handout about how to get Tree Connect and how to use it.
