Joan, Thank you, I appreciate you sharing your experience. I believe in different kind of dreams - some nightmarish, some ordinary mortal ones, and some spiritual dreams that can be a warning, directive, edifying, or pure joy. I believe you had a spiritual dream. If you ever feel like it might be a spiritual dream, you can ask for an interpretation or direction on what you are to do or just enjoy the peacefulness of it. Sounds like you will be greeted by your grandmother after you pass on to heaven. Sandy sandy_anderson41@earthlink.net Why Wait? It's probably not something you can use, but it's something that has definitely had an impact on me as I have searched for my family through the last several years. > On Feb. 14, 1977 my grandmother died at the age of 95 yrs. old. I sent an entry form to SL with her information requesting that her work would be done. It was sent to Washington D.C. and the ordinances were performed in her behalf. The year before her death I had received my patriarchal blessing telling me that my mission was to research my relatives and open the prison door for them. It goes on to tell me that my joy would be great when I received their thanks in the kingdom of our Heavenly Father. Well, I had reflected on this blessing many times wondering how that might be, how they might thank me and how I might feel. After all, I was told I would feel great joy. > In 2002, I awoke after having a vivid dream of my grandmother. We were standing outside in a place I had never been. We were in front of a stone wall that had bits of greenery growing out and up between the cracks. There was an open doorway and I looked in trying to see the inside. It was completely dark and I could not see so much as a glimmer of light therein. My grandmother had a very hard life and I had not in this lifetime ever seen her happy and I don't remember her ever hugging or being demonstrative at all. Yet her face glowed with a radiant happiness and smile that I can still see clearly in my mind to this day. She extended her arms and hugged me and repeatedly kissed my face on both sides of my cheeks. How did I feel? In my dream I was amazed at her transformation and the joy I felt and still do when I recall that memory. > Of course, I realize that this is a dream and not what you would be looking for. However, this personal experience that came as a result of working in my family history has made a lasting impact on me. Good luck with your fireside.
