    3. When it was time for us to learn the nFS here in Washington State, we would look up the "help" sections, both of them, and read the directions, then ask each other. When we worked together on our one day a week, (it's a very small FHC) we would bring the questions we had about the program and help each other find the solution.. I can't emphasize enough to read the directions & research the help sections. Over time, as we and others reported bugs to the programers in Salt Lake, they fixed them. They are very helpful, listen and respond to every legitimate question, suggestions & will reply to emails. They gladly welcome suggestions from IT people who aren't involved daily with nFS, as they may be able to see quickly how a problem can be solved. As we anticipated the crowds rushing in to learn this new program, we became nervous about learning it well enough ourselves. No need to fear; not one person showed up on our Family History Center doorstep, or called when nFS was released to everyone in the stake! Gradually there was the transition of people coming in with their disks and temple ready wanting to know how to transfer all that information and take it to the temple as they come across the cards they still have. We had someone with cards from 1979 wanting to know if the temple would take them & they wouldn't. By searching on nFS, we were able to find those people and print off a nFS sheet to take to temple complete with barcodes - the barcodes are impressive. I did recieve some calls at home for help and was able to help them without leaving my house. Many people will go online from home and use the program and never ask the consultants a thing, but they in turn help others. As the nFS is an ever changing program, it would behove us to be patient and continue to read the help sections and the FAQs, which can be very enlightening. Only by doing one's own work in cleaning up one's family and helping other consultants one works with can one learn the program. I am in constant awe at the complexity of this project from it's inception a few years ago and I know this work is guided from above because this project was enormous to begin with and it has continued to move forward, expand and evolve. It is a living, breathing thing! There are also the other Family History Projects being put online and are very helpful while also working in nFS. SMorgan
