Finally got the reply to the question of 95/110 rule from birth date. 1. 95 years or less, must have permission from closest living relative. 2. 95 years to 110 years, if no death date is found, ordinances are delayed to 110 years and permission must be obtained from closest relative. Thank you for contacting FamilySearch Support. The following are current temple submission policies related to your question: For individuals who have been born in the last 95 years, Church policy states that permission must be obtained from the closest living relative before submitting anyone born within the last 95 years. (“Temple and Family History Work,” section 9 of the Church Handbook of Instructions, Book 2: Priesthood and Auxiliary Leaders [2006], 263). This would be in the following order: un-divorced spouse, adult children, parents, and siblings ("Policies for Preparing Names for Temple Work," FamilySearch, 7). Please note, this date changes each year; for this year any individual who was born in 1914 or later requires permission. (The above-mentioned "Policies for Preparing Names for Temple Work" is available as a printable PDF document in New FamilySearch. After logging on to New FamilySearch, select "Help Center" and "Overviews and Guides." It is listed as one of the "Guides.") Additionally, if there is no death date available, the length increases to 110 years. In other words, for those individuals with no death date, permission from the closest living relative must be obtained for those born within the last 110 years. (Currently, it would be anyone born 1899 or later.) These policies help ensure that living people are not accidentally submitted and also that the closest living relatives have the first opportunity to perform proxy work. They also help to ensure that the feelings of others are considered and relationships are not damaged by the work we do.
