    1. Re: [LDS-WC] Youth temple work
    2. Jill I think this percentage of unendowed v. endowed is the same all over the church. (Remember BYU/UVSU also have a ton of returned missionaries.) What compounds it is every youth does 15 names in a time period generally equal to one endowment. So one youth baptism assignment per day with 20 youth (generous for some wards) participating would give 300 names ready for initiatory and endowment. I'm sure the Provo Temple easily does more than 300 endowments in a day. Even our small temple probably averages 250-300 (9 sessions times 53 seat max..and midday not full to capacity). So if the temple can only baptize 300 and the patrons can do multiples of that in initiatory and endowments, then NFS drawdowns would be a big help both ways in those temples. Am I missing something? Absolutely, the Provo Temple does more than 300 endowments a day. However, you are assuming one youth baptism assignment per day. When our 10 kids arrive to do their 50 names (they only get 5 per person), there is a group in the font area and one in the chapel area waiting. By the time they leave, there is another group in the chapel behind them and another arriving at the recommend desk. There are multiple group assignments every day, in addition to walk-ins for family file. I don't know at this point if Provo does more baptisms than endowments each day. I suspect it is more in balance because of the rules that are in place, but the font is open an average of about 13 hours per day. That's a lot of baptisms! Jill Crandell
